Randy’s 28th Birthday Part 3

For Randy’s 3rd and last celebration, we had our Life Group over for a burger bar (I told you I have a new obsession with food bars)!

All the fixings.

Made this garland with tissue paper… very easy (lots of tutorials online) and printed out pictures of Randy and I. So festive… just my style!

The birthday boy grilling burgers.

Boys and their toys.

Building their burgers… a very serious business. πŸ˜‰

I love these little red baskets! I think I will be using these baskets a lot this summer! I got them at Wal-mart and they came with the checkered waxed paper. Now I just need to find some more of this paper.

And you can’t have burgers without tater tots, of course!

Along with the burger bar, we had a photo booth.

I found a photo booth set at Wal-mart, which included the back drop and props. Easy peasy!

All the ladies!

I struggled to hold three at a time! Our Life Group has talent! πŸ˜‰

Will it be a boy or a girl? πŸ™‚

After everyone left, Randy and I enjoyed the rest of the helium. I think the last time I played with helium was on my 16th birthday!

I think we played with the helium for a good 30 minutes. It was a lot of fun!

After 3 parties I was plain tuckered out! Good thing I don’t have to do it again until next year! But knowing me, I will find something else to celebrate before next year. Easter is just around the corner… yikes! Time to start planning! πŸ˜‰

It was well worth the work. I enjoyed every second of it. Happy birthday dear, I hope to celebrate a 100 more with you!

Randy’s 28th Birthday Part 2

For Randy’s second celebration, we got to spend the day with my parents and enjoy a taco bar.

I have this new found obsession with food bars for parties! They are so much fun and there are so many options.

I love this galvanized metal stand from Pottery Barn. It is perfect for serving at parties and for decorating.

We made guacamole and opened up one of our canned salsa. Aren’t those little key limes cute?

You can’t have a fiesta without margaritas, of course! πŸ˜‰

All the taco fixings!

The taco meat is actually ground venison… I know what you are thinking. Eww! That was my first thought too! I fought tooth and nail against Randy getting deer meat. I hate deer meat, hate the smell, hate the taste. Ugh! But… Randy got a deer anyways! Well, he has proved me wrong. I don’t know what it is about this meat or what Randy does to it, but its magical! I love it! It does not taste like the venison I had growing up. I now prefer it over beef! Not to mention, it is much leaner than beef! Yay! Because we have tons of it in the freezer!

And all of us enjoying our tequila shots (Patron, of course! Only the best for my husband)! πŸ˜‰ And yes, I have the coolest parents ever!

Making our tacos… so fun and easy!

And the birthday boy, wearing his Pi shirt eating Pie! He is so adorkable! Love this man!

Part 3 of Randy’s birthday coming soon!

Randy’s 28th Birthday Part 1

So life has been crazy! After Valentine’s day I got bronchitis and have felt terrible for about 2 weeks! I am super excited for warmer weather to get here so all the germs will go away (I hope!) And I have been planning Randy’s birthday. And trying to do some spring cleaning on the side. I have been very busy!

As you all know, I love to entertain and celebrate just about everything! πŸ™‚ So birthdays are a pretty big deal around here. For Randy’s birthday this year we had 3 parties/events!

Friday was his actual birthday, so I got up early and made him a pancake breakfast before going to work. I found a fantastic buttermilk pancake recipe on Pinterest. This one is definitely a keeper!

And I made sure that he had plenty of his favorite candy for the day!

I got him a moleskin wine journal, to help him keep up with all his favorites. His “big” present from me was a signed, first edition of the, long awaited for, sequel to the Stormlight Archives. We have been waiting (impatiently) for the second installment of this series. We were both so excited to get this book! (I warned you that we were uber nerds!)

For his birthday dinner we went out with our dear friends, the Heaters and their little girl, Tesslyn. Isn’t she the cutest thing ever? She is so cool! How many four-year olds do you know eat sushi?

She has the neatest chopsticks that are designed for little ones. They are called Edison chopsticks. I wonder if they make an adult version? Because I can’t use chopsticks! Not without getting frustrated and just start stabbing my food.

After dinner we went to The Hop, a locally owned ice cream shop. They serve Randy’s favorite, salted Carmel. They have very good ice cream, all handmade from ingredients from local farmers.

We had a wonderful night with the Heaters. And I hope Randy had a wonderful birthday, filled with all the things he loves!

Stay tuned for his second birthday party!
