27 Weeks and My 29th Birthday

IMG_4179

Hello Third Trimester!

Baby Maples is the size of a cucumber and weighs 2.2 pounds!

How far along? 27 weeks
Maternity clothes? yes, but love wearing my maxi and shift dresses (Also, I just got my Blanqi maternity support tank top – best thing ever! It has helped with the pulled muscles in my abdomen and lower back pain. I can’t live without it now!)
Stretch marks? not yet
Sleep: sleep has improved dramatically due to the wonderful snoogle – where have you been all of my life!?
Best moment this week: spending some time with my family
Miss anything? sleeping on my stomach and red wine
Movement: Baby Girl is moving like crazy – she makes my stomach jump now
Food cravings: Watermelon and some more watermelon!
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: no
Symptoms: I have been pretty tired here lately, probably because I have been going nonstop for a while – nesting, shopping and preparing the nursery
Belly Button in or out? half in and half out – almost an outie!
Wedding rings on or off? on
Mood: happy, tired, anxious, sad (probably because Randy was on a business trip to France all week)
Looking forward to: completing the nursery – I am starting to freak out that it isn’t finished yet!

This week was a happy/sad week for me, because Randy was in France all week for a business trip. I was thrilled that he got to go, but a little sad that I wasn’t there. He wished me happy birthday in front of the Eiffel Tower via FaceTime, which was very romantic – but a little depressing at the same time. Next time he goes, I will definitely tag along!

He did bring me back gifts from Paris – wonderful perfume and a beautiful maple leaf necklace. He did good! 😉 And he brought back a nice French red wine for us, that we plan to enjoy when Baby Girl turns 1!

While he was away, I spent most of the week with my family. We did some shopping for Baby Girl and I just can’t wait till she gets here and to dress her in her beautiful clothes!

The rest of the week was spent eating at all of my favorite Boone restaurants – which is the best way to celebrate a birthday 27 weeks pregnant – and going to the Farmer’s Market.

When Randy returned from France he took me to my favorite restaurant, Bouchon – which, is french comfort food. Haha! 🙂 It never disappoints! We finished our night at the Creperie with a banana foster crepe! It was the most perfect evening!

And to end my birthday, I got to celebrate with my small group with more yummy food! This pregnant birthday girl was in her happy place, especially with the angel food cake and strawberry cream – yum!

I have so many things to be thankful for and I am excited for all the things to come in the last year of my twenties!

I hope you had a wonderful week and Memorial Day!

How far along? 25 weeks
Maternity clothes? yes, but love wearing my maxi dresses and skirts
Stretch marks? not yet
Sleep: sleeping has been ok – I feel the most uncomfortable when I am trying to sleep. I thought about getting a body pillow – any suggestions on which one? Or is it even worth getting one?
Best moment this week: just enjoying being pregnant and loving the wonderful weather
Miss anything? sleeping on my stomach, my normal clothes and sushi!
Movement: Baby Girl is moving like crazy – she is a mover and a shaker!
Food cravings: I could eat cereal just about every meal and still loving fruit; especially peaches and watermelon
Food aversions: not food aversions, just smells in general right now have been bothering me again
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: no
Symptoms: acid reflux is still in effect and I tend to pull abdominal muscles real easy right now; which hurts like the dickens! I am looking into some kind of support for my belly – any suggestions?
Belly Button in or out? in but getting wider and shallower – Randy thinks it will be an outie in about a week
Wedding rings on or off? on
Mood: happy and a little overwhelmed – I keep having dreams that the baby comes and the nursery isn’t complete!
Looking forward to:  visiting family this week

Looking forward to: decorating the nursery

I am a little embarrassed to say how long I have been planning and dreaming about my nursery. Let just say, I have been gathering ideas for a long time – which is made evident of my Pinterest account! Any how, I am very excited to finally start buying and putting together all my ideas for this nursery.

I love nurseries that are neutral and elegant. Restoration Hardware has put together the most beautiful and perfect nurseries. When I think of my nursery, I imagine it looking something like this:

I love the grays and creams with pops of color here and there. I would like to incorporate a little bit of pink and mustard yellow into our little girl’s room. I found this crib sheet on Esty and it has been my inspiration for the color scheme. I just love the mixture of these colors.

After finding this sheet, I stumbled upon this nursery:

I love the grey, peach and gold. And I also love that this nursery is girly, but not too over-the-top. It has just enough feminine charm. 🙂

I am so excited to get this nursery together! It has been so much fun shopping for the nursery. I have been using Baby List for my registry and to help me keep track of everything I find and love. This website is amazing! You can put any item from any store/website into one registry! It makes things so much easier; especially since I love baby items from Etsy!

Happy weekend!
