One Year & Family Photos

Taking family pictures with a little one can be difficult, at best. Obviously, when Ada was a newborn it was easy. But now that she is more interested in moving around and playing, it is much harder. Thankfully, we teamed up with our best friends, who have a little one, to get our family photos done together!

It is so hard to get a picture of Ada smiling. I promise you that she does smile, just not in front of a camera!

We were able to get one picture of Ada smiling, but her hands are in her mouth. Close enough!

And probably my favorite picture from the whole day – my daughter and I with my bestie and her son! I am definitely framing this one!

Since it was so hot that day, it was difficult to get decent pictures of Ada. So a few days later I took some more at home and love how they turned out!

That face just kills me! She is such a little goober and I love it! Poor kid gets it honestly!

I adore this vintage style dress! I got it at a consignment shop months ago and have been waiting for it to fit her. It is still a little big, but I still love it! The top has beautiful, dainty embroidery and buttons and the dress is trimmed in tiny lace – what’s not to love?!

I am very grateful that we were able to get some photos at this time of our lives and a special shout out to our friends for helping us out! I know that these pictures will be treasured and ones that I will look back on in the years to come. Happy birthday my darling Ada Marie!

Mama + Mini Monday: ASU

Football season is upon us. Not that Randy and I are particular huge sport fantatics. In fact, this video pretty much sums up how Randy and I feel about sports. But I do enjoy what football season brings – cooler weather, hot wings, and hanging out with friends enjoying a cold one. 😉 So I decided to support my alma mater – Appalachian State University, since they will be playing their first game of the season on Thursday – Go Mountaineers!

That face! She is the cutest Mountaineer ever!

ASU is #1! It was just by chance that Randy captured that pose. Perfect timing!

Hope you have a great Monday!

12 Months

Today is the day my little baby Ada turns one. All day today has been moments of laughing, followed by me bursting into tears. Does this whole mom emotional thing ever get any better? 😉 It feels like just yesterday I was holding my little girl for the very first time and now she is one.

Week Three 38

It has been an absolute joy watching Ada grow, change, and learn. This past year has been the best year of my life and I can’t even remember what life was like before Ada. She has completed our family and lives so perfectly and completely.

Ada has to be the sweetest, calmest baby ever! She loves to snuggle and will stop doing what ever she is doing for a quick snuggle. Her favorite thing to do right now is to summon you over by opening and closing her hands in which she demands to snuggle for a second. As she snuggles up to you she says, “Aww.” It is seriously the sweetest thing you will ever see! She is happy pretty much all the time, unless she has skipped a nap then she is Miss. Grumpy Pants.

IMG_7945

She has finally figured out her walker and she is rolling all around the house. She loves to follow me around while I am cleaning or cooking. It is the greatest because I can get so much done while she is in there! She scoots and army crawls backwards. I am hoping that she will get to forward crawling soon. But to be honest, I am just relieved that she can army crawl backwards – she is finally on the move! 😉

She officially has 3 teeth now – two lower and an eye tooth. I am certain that she is working on her front teeth and the other eye tooth so sleep has been difficult for her. She has been getting up a lot these past two months. I hope that she finishes teething and starts sleeping through the night again soon!

IMG_7944

She is constantly repeating what Randy and I say. Her favorite right now is to play with her dog and say woof! woof! It is pretty darn cute! She can say – mama, dada, no, star, dog, kitty, bye-bye, yeah, duck, bath, and whoa. Whenever she is awake, she is constantly babbling a way. She is definitely a talker!

She still loves music and will dance and sing anytime she hears it. She also still loves her books. She can sit there flipping through her books forever. Her favorite stuff animals are her dogs, she usually has one with her at all times. Ada is still a great eater and will eat whatever I give her. She loves to feed herself now and even pretends to feed herself during play time. So she has a spoon and a small bowl in her hands all the time.

IMG_7946

We love you sweet Ada Marie! You are the sunshine in our lives, you brighten the room with your sweet smile and your contagious laugh! We couldn’t imagine life without you! Happy Birthday my sweet, darling girl!

Mama + Mini Monday: Yellow Dot

Several months ago, I bought Ada this yellow bow and instantly fell in love with it. The color and pattern is just beautiful. I love it so much, that it became the inspiration for Ada’s first birthday party. Sadly, the bow is no longer available and this pattern is no where to be found. This past weekend, while I was shopping with my mom, I came across this yellow swiss dot shirt. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it! This shirt is the same fabric as Ada’s bow! Needless to say, I bought the shirt without hesitation and I love how well it matches my little!

IMG_7912

Ada’s “Little Miss Sunshine” romper is from Paper Doll Clothing Co. They make the cutest clothes for every season. This romper is no longer available, but their fall line is adorable! You bet I’ll be picking up a “Little Miss Pumpkin” shirt soon! Her yellow bow is from Free Babes Handmade, which is no longer available either. But her fall line is about to launch and I am excited to see what she is going to have.

IMG_7913

My button up is from Anthropologie – sadly, I cannot find it online; but it should be in store. For reference, this shirt runs a little small, but I prefer my shirts to be loose. I bought it in a size 8 when I am normally a size 4 or 6. My gold t-shirt is from TJMaxx two years ago. It is my go to layering shirt in the fall. Target has some shirts similar available right now. My white jeans are from Loft and my blush sandals are last season Seychelles (can you tell that I am a big Seychelles fan? 🙂 ).

Ada certainly is my little sunshine. Even though it is hard to capture in photos, she is the sweetest, happiest little baby.

I hope you are staying cool and I hope you are enjoying these last few weeks of summer! As for me, fall can not get here fast enough! Happy Monday ya’ll!

Mama + Mini Monday: Blue Romper

It has been crazy hot here the last few days! Being a mountain girl, I do not handle hot, sticky, humid heat, well at all! I get cranky, short tempered, and my hair poofs out like a poodle. I believe Ada handles heat the same way, too. She is very hot natured and sweats easily, so we have been hiding inside these past few days. Our style here lately has been anything that is comfortable and cool – so rompers it is!

IMG_7791

I know, I know! I love rompers! What can I say? They are easy, stylish, and fun! This romper I found at Target and I wear it a lot. It is light, comfortable, and it has all my favorite colors, mustard and navy. Oh, and it has pockets, cause you know, pockets! My shoes are another favorite from Seychelles. They are very comfortable and I love that I can wear them now and into fall.

IMG_7790

You can tell Ada is thrilled to be outside for these photos. The only good thing about this heat and Ada sweating, are those curls! Are they not the sweetest?! I found her romper at Sam’s Club, of all places. It is from Carter’s and I think I paid $5 for it. It has been a go-to outfit for Ada this summer. I don’t know about you, but every time I see this romper I think fiesta! 🙂

IMG_7792

And here is a terrible photo, but I couldn’t resist sharing because of Ada’s face. Haha! I love this silly girl of mine.

IMG_7793

I hope you are all staying cool this week! Here’s to praying that fall will come soon! Happy Monday!

Mama + Mini Monday: Grey & Mustard

As you all know, I have an obsession a passion for coordinating mine and Ada’s outfits. It is something I have been dreaming about doing long before Ada came into my life. I guess you can say that I am now living out my dream! I love, love doing it so I thought I would have a spot dedicated for it, here. Welcome to the first Mama + Mini Monday!

IMG_7722

Right now, I am loving rompers. I know there are some mix feelings about them, but I can’t get enough of them. Especially, ones like this. I think I like that they make getting ready easy. I don’t have to think about a top and bottom, I just throw this one garment on, pair it with some cute shoes and I am good to go. Anything to save time is a must for this new mama here! 😉

IMG_7724

Loft is killing it with rompers this summer! I love the lace details of this one and I will be able to wear it this fall with some booties. Also, it has pockets – need I say more? Ada is wearing a June&January dress, which is amazing! No tags, no weird seams, it is very soft, and it stretches so well. Ada hates putting on clothes, so these stretchy dresses have been great. Plus, have you seen June&January knit tights? They will pair perfectly with this dress in the fall!

IMG_7725

I just replaced my mustard heels a few weeks ago, with these from Seychelles. My others were in pretty bad shape. But I love that these heels are made with leather and I love the vintage design.

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday! Until next time!

11 Month Favorites

It is hard to imagine that we are now less than one month away from Ada’s first birthday. It is amazing how fast time has flown by. So before we get to her first birthday, here are our 11 month favorites!

11 Month Favorites

  1. Simba Travel Containers – I have been looking for travel food containers for a while. I thought about getting the Zoli travel containers, but at $20 it was a little pricey. The Simba is only $9 and it is large enough to fit bigger snacks. And I love that it can hold formula, too. The formula dispenser I had before, I had to beat the formula out of it! Now it is smooth sailing when it comes to making a bottle.
  2. Oxo Bib – I love the idea of a silicone bib, with the food catcher at the bottom. But Ada has always struggled getting her little arms around it and grabbing her food. This bib has a soft top so it is easier for her to move around it and we can catch all her food. Win, win!
  3. Joovy Walker – I know that research says that a walker delays walking, but my daughter is already delayed, so we got her one on Craigslist. I love this walker because there is a nice, big, blank tray instead of a tray with all kinds of toys in her face. She loves moving around while looking at her books and it is nice to leave her sippy cup and snacks on the tray, too. She hasn’t figured out how to move forwards yet, but she can move backwards. And any kind of workout for her legs, I think, is a good thing at this point.
  4. Tote – We have officially outgrown our diaper bag. Carrying bottles, formula, snacks, bibs, utensils, toys, blankets, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, etc – the diaper bag was no longer big enough. I found this large tote at Target and it has worked very well for us. I use Sugar Snap Files, to help keep everything organize.
  5. Sleeper – I found some awesome sleepers at Primary.com. I love them because they button all the way down on both sides (couldn’t find an accurate pic) and they are not snug fit. Most larger sleepers are snug fit, which are not comfortable for Ada’s cute, chubby thighs. And they are super soft, so these sleepers are perfect!
  6. Book – This is Ada’s favorite book right now. She loves the flaps and the different sounds. Her favorite sound is the sheep, she plays that one over and over and imitates it. It is adorable!

I hope you ya’ll have a wonderful weekend! I am off to plan Ada’s first birthday! I am so excited to throw her a party!
