Baby Maples is the size of an ear of corn! And she weighs 1 pound!

How far along? 22 weeks
Maternity clothes? yes – I can finally fill out some of my shirts
Stretch marks? not yet
Sleep: sleep has improved, still wake up a lot
Best moment this week: spending the weekend in Edisto
Miss anything? sleeping on my stomach and my normal clothes
Movement: Baby Girl is moving like crazy now and I love it! And I’m pretty sure I felt hiccups this week!
Food cravings: any kind of fruit, stir fried veggies, PB&Js and sweets of any kind
Food aversions: this week I had a sudden aversion to coffee, but it didn’t last long
Gender: It’s a Girl!
Labor Signs: no, I’m gonna to be freaking out whenever I say yes to this!
Symptoms: I feel like my belly just popped out even more this week and is getting bigger and harder by the day
Belly Button in or out? in but it sure does feel weird now
Wedding rings on or off? on
Mood: So very happy!
Looking forward to: decorating the nursery

We had such a great weekend at Edisto Beach and Charleston. We went for Randy’s little cousin’s wedding and had a small family vacation for the remainder of the weekend.

It was a little bit cloudy and rainy for the weekend, but it was still nice. We flew kites and walked along the beach.

We tried to have a beach day one day but we could not handle the no-see-thems. These bugs are seriously the most irritating and maddening things on the planet! They swarmed us at the beach and we tried to ignore them, but you just can’t. We didn’t go back to the beach after that.

IMG_4087

But we enjoyed Charleston and the wedding! There were no no-see-thems there! 🙂 We had lunch at the Fleet Landing near the port of Charleston. Best thing about being pregnant and vacationing in Charleston is the food. Oh the food! I ate my weight in shrimp and grits, which these days is a lot! 😉

IMG_4102

The wedding took place at the Citadel college, such a cool place.

Isn’t my husband so handsome? I’m one lucky girl! 🙂

The reception was tons of fun! It was at an awesome inn and the food was amazing! I had shrimp and grits again – don’t judge! 😉 It was a beautiful wedding and we had a wonderful time! We are so very happy for Sarah and Alex! I know that they will live happily ever after!

Five Years in Pictures

Today we celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it has been five years already! It feels like just yesterday when we first met each other in modern physics class. I guess time flies when you are having fun!

Our wedding day, October 17, 2009 – such a perfect day!

We have done so many great things and have made such wonderful memories – and we have done all these things together. There have been times of hardships and struggle, but that has only made us stronger.

You have been my best friend, my partner in crime, my helper, my teacher, my comedian, my comforter – my husband. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in life. God has blessed me above all reasoning and I am eternally grateful.

Thank you for just being you. I love you, always forever.

I look forward to 100 more years of adventures with you!

Girl’s Weekend

This past weekend I went to the beautiful Charleston, SC for a bachelorette party. We stayed at the Wild Dunes Resort… great vacation spot! I hope to go again with Randy some day. We stayed in a condo that was right on the beach. It was the first time (for me) staying in a place with the beach so close and it was awesome!

We had a great time enjoying the beach and pools, even though it was a little chilly. The beach here reminded me of the movie, The Notebook. It was very beautiful.

MACIE

We spent most of the weekend at the resort, but we spent some time Charleston.

We ate dinner at Slightly North of Broad aka SNOB. It was very good (as is everything in Charleston) and had quail for the first time. And they had a super Tuscan wine, so I was one happy camper!

So happy for Macie and I had a great time celebrating her!

The next day we had brunch at a restaurant called, Husk. It was in a beautiful house, the kind that you can only find in Charleston. It was elegant, rustic and southern. A very unique combo. 🙂

We spent a little time walking around, admiring the beauty of Charleston. Love the trees!

I love Charleston… I love the architecture, the food, the culture. It is such a beautiful city. I hope the next time I visit I can spend more time exploring the city! 🙂 And I had a great time with the girls! It was a much needed break from all the boys (I’m the only girl on my team at work)! I look forward to the next trip together!

I wish you the best Macie! I know that you will live happily ever after with your prince! 😉

Small Family Wedding

Randy’s father got married June 7 and we had a very small, private family wedding.

It was quite sweet. Private weddings always seem to be!

It’s official!

It was the first time I had ever been inside of a federal court house. I guess that is a good thing. 🙂 But it was very pretty. The dome was especially cool.

I loved all the brass… very retro. And Judy’s dress had gold buttons… perfect match! 😉

May in Pictures Part 2

Caution: Picture Overload in this post! 😉

Last weekend my beautiful sister got married! She had an outside wedding on her (now) husband’s family’s farm (that wasn’t confusing). It was great… but quite chilly. A cold front came through Ohio this past weekend, but it was still nice enough to have the wedding outside.

And then to end the perfect day, we finished it with a bang! 🙂

I cannot explain how happy I am for my sister. She is one of the most beautiful, tendered-hearted, spontaneous and gentle person I have ever known. And I believe she has found the perfect match in Mark. He fits well in our silly little family. He is caring, supportive; all the while; nurturing her independent streak and encouraging her to grow. It is evident to all that know them, how happy he makes her, and how happy they are together. Congrats Mark and Shawna! I love you both!
